Subaru presented the updated Legacy

23 April 2019

Subaru seized the moment and used this year's Chicago Motor Show as a center stage for the US premiere of the new Legacy. Based on Subaru's newly-developed platform (called Subaru Global Platform), the new Legacy now has strengthened chassis, enhanced safety, and improved comfort.

A significant improvement is the revised suspension which ensures a smooth ride even at rough road conditions. Under the hood, depending on the customers' preferences, the new Legacy can be fitted with: a 2,5-l (182 hp) naturally aspirated engine unit (borrowed from the Forester model) or a 2,4-l (260 hp) turbocharged power plant. Both engines come paired with a VVT and an AWD. A crucial novation of the upcoming 7th gen Legacy is the revised interior, which now features more quality materials and integrated smart technology. The latter depends on the configuration options.

The highest trim levels offer the latest infotainment system with an 11,6-in vertically situated sensor display. An intriguing fact is that for the very first time, Subaru will offer a sedan with an integrated WiFi router, a Driver's Fatigue Monitoring system and a front-mounted video cam for safer maneuvering.

The updated Legacy will like hit the U.S. markets this autumn.
