The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia comes with impressive new design, providing the vehicle elegant and sportier look. The prolonged and slimmed LED headlights catch the eye from the first sight. The newly designed front grille of the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia accentuates the elegant character of the compact vehicle. The smooth lines on the hood underline the unique elegance of the latest Skoda’s a piece of art. With combining the headlights and the grille in one unit, Skoda’s engineers provide the next-gen Octavia with a really impressive front look. The dimensions are also revised. The new vehicle is a bit wider, longer and flatter, in comparison with its predecessor. Its length is increased to 4689 mm, while the width becomes 1829 mm. These dimensions put the all-new Skoda Octavia in between its main rivals in the segment – VW Golf and VW Passat.

Other elements that accentuate the elegant character of the car are the smooth horizontal sidelines and the redesigned roof rails. In order to provide more agility, aerodynamics and better performance, the suspension is lowered a little bit.

The wheelbase has also increased to 1829 mm. The standard equipment includes 18-inch alloys, but 19-inch are also an option for those who want to make the vehicle look more masculine. At the rear, the new Octavia looks extremely sporty. The LED lights are horizontally drawn and offer impressive animations. The clean and smooth rear look, with no fake exhausts, underlines the elegance and agility of the next-gen car.

Interior

The all-new Skoda Octavia comes with the widest cabin space ever to be offered by the model. The rear seats offer spacious legroom and more comfort for the passengers. The boot capacity pretends to be the best for the segment with its volume of 640 l(for the Combi) and 600l (for the hatchback version). Skoda designers have done their best in terms of Octavia’s interior.

Starting with the new multi-functional steering wheel, through the redesigned central console and door trims to the reworked dashboard – everything screams innovation and harmony. The luxurious level of the new vehicle is underlined by numerous additional options and extras offered, like the hidden in the door umbrella and optional ice brush, placed in in the front passenger’s door. Quite impressive is the modular, multi-level arrangement of the dashboard, resembling the shape of the front grille. But the most outstanding feature of the interior is the large, free-standing central multifunction display. For drivers’ and passengers’ comfort, Skoda offers new ergonomic seats with heating, cooling and massage function - for the first time. As an extra, there are sports seats, covered with breathable ThermoFlux fabric.

Another notable part of the optional equipment for the new Octavia is the three-zone air conditioning system. The keyless entry system is also enhanced and allows each of the car’s doors to be opened regardless of their sequence.

True to its philosophy “Simply clever!”, Skoda creates a tidy and elegant central console, implementing the new shift-by-wire technology. It allows the driver to electronically choose the preferred DSG transmission setting. In terms of optional equipment, Active, Ambition and Style are the new trim levels. They offer different additional features and extras, that underline the elegance, luxuriousness and performance of the car. The storage space in the cabin is really well organized. As you’d expect from Skoda, there’s plenty of storage places, including large door bins in the front that will accommodate a good-sized water bottle. There’s also a smartphone storage pocket in each of the front seat backs.

The fourth-generation Octavia offers a wide range of engines: from the small 1,0 TSI three-cylinder petrol engine with 110 hp to the 2,0 TDI unit, generating 200 hp. In the lineup are also present 1,4 Plug-in Hybrid petrol engine, 1,5-l Mild-hybrid motor and a CNG version of the powerplant.
