Geely Auto makes some significant improvements on the last new and innovative option in the system – the contactless delivery. This should mean that the new vehicle is going to be delivered directly to the owner’s home or workplace instead of collecting form dealerships. But the most interesting part of the delivery will be the key delivery. The system will now use drones in select locations to pass the new car’s key to the customer by delivering directly to their door or balcony. In this way, Geely hopes to achieve a truly contactless process of deliveries for the first time in automotive history.

After the official start of the platform in February 2020, over 10 000 consumers have ordered and already paid for vehicles on the manufacturer’s online mall. More 110 000 users have registered their interest to buy a Geely vehicle in short terms. All confirmed orders are already sent to local dealerships and are awaiting the beginning of home delivering process.

Geely Auto states that each of their vehicles is thoroughly disinfected before delivery using ionization to ensure each customer safe and healthy purchase experience. The healthier vehicles will be next big project for the Chinese carmaker, who has already set aside nearly 47 million Euro fund for the development of cleaner, healthier cars with implementations of antimicrobial natural material and air cleaning technologies. The first vehicle in mass production, which is a part of this project is the Geely ICON with its anti-bacterial air-filtering system. It was launched in February this year.

The automotive company states that it is ready for changes to meet the market requirements and customer demands, and this is what ensures Geely’s success in the Chinese market.
