The model offers a variety of engine options. In the petrol range, Citroen Berlingo could be equipped with 1.2-liter (1199 cm3) 3-cylinder and 1.4- (1361 cm3), 1.6- (1587 cm3/ 1598 cm3), 1.8- (1762 cm3), 2.0-liter (1997 cm3) 4-cylinder petrol engines. Diesel options are 1.5- (1499 cm3), 1.6- (1560 cm3), 1.9- (1868 cm3), and 2.0-liter (1997 cm3) 4-cylinder diesel engines.

Power varies, depending on the modification, starting at 71 Hp (Citroen Berlingo I (Phase I, 1996/ Phase II, 2002) 1.9 D), going up to 130 Hp (Citroen Berlingo III M (Phase I, 2018) 1.5 BlueHDi S&S) for the Internal combustion engine variants. The electric Berlingo (Citroen Berlingo II (Phase III, 2015) 22,5 kWh CVT) has an output of 67 Hp.

Fuel tank capacity can be 53 l (14 gal), 55 l (14.53 gal), or 60 l (15.85 gal), depending on the variant.

The range offers both 5- and 7-seat variants, to better suit customers’ needs.

Third generation and some second generation Citroen Berlingo variants are still in production.

Citroen Berlingo vehicles are produced in Stellantis Vigo plant in the Province of Pontevedra, Spain and Stellantis Mangualde Plant in Mangualde, Portugal.
